【Step-by-Step Tutorial】—— Crystal-Clear Ocean Wave Eyes

- Tutorial Steps -
【Step 1】Filling with Oil Clay
Take a small piece of oil clay, soften it by kneading, and fill the eyeblank. Press evenly with a a suitable ball stylus to fill the eyeblank completely, then remove excess clay.
【Step 2】Carving Iris Patterns
Use a carving knife or similar tool to carve iris patterns with alternating thick and thin lines. Feel free to design as you like! I wanted a wave-like effect, so I included some thicker textures.
【Step 3】Carving Outer Ring Patterns
Use a small ball stylus to gently press the clay inward along the edge, creating a circular outer ring. Then carve fine iris patterns into this outer ring with the carving knife.
【Step 4】Applying Color
Use a very fine brush to apply pigment powder. The colors used this time are shown in the image:
·「Deep Blue」ocean for the inner part
·Transitioning to「Mint Green」waves in the middle
·「Golden Yellow」sand for the outer ring
*Tip: After applying each color, use a blower brush to remove excess powder.
【Step 5】Crafting the Pupil
Mix UV resin with blue pigment evenly. Place a drop into the pupil mold and cure under the UV lamp for 1 minute.
Apply a small amount of UV resin to the eyeball, gently place the pupil, adjust it to the exact center, and cure under the lamp.
*Tip: During each UV resin application step, briefly pass a lighter over it to remove bubbles before curing. Bubble-free eyeballs have much finer details!
【Step 6】Crafting the High-Curve Dome
Drip UV resin into the dome mold (be careful not to overfill). Cure under the UV lamp for 1-2 minutes.
Apply a small amount of UV resin to the eyeball, gently place the dome, adjust it to the exact center, and cure.
Finally, apply an appropriate amount of UV resin to coat the entire eyeball surface and cure for 「5 minutes」.
